PORTUGAL - CULTURE UND ARCHITECTURE IMMERSION
This architectural journey through Portugal offered an immersive exploration of the country’s most significant contemporary and modern architecture. The itinerary included visits to Porto, studying the works of Álvaro Siza and Eduardo Souto de Moura, highlighting their approaches to materiality, space, and context, along with buildings by contemporary architects such as Fala Atelier and Pedra Liquida. The trip also ventured into the Vale do Douro and Lamego, exploring the region’s landscapes, viticultural heritage, and integration of architecture within cultural and natural settings. A highlight of the tour was the architectural visits in Guimarães and Braga, guided by local architects Vale Calvete, offering insight into contemporary interventions and the dialogue between history and modernity. The journey culminated with Braga Stadium, a remarkable masterpiece by Eduardo Souto de Moura. This experience combined architectural analysis, contextual observation, and professional insight, giving participants a comprehensive understanding of Portuguese architecture from both historical and contemporary perspectives.
